She navigates Norway’s stunning Åkrafjord, sailing beneath a low-hanging cable to reach the spectacular Langfoss waterfall. In France, she travels along the River Seine, winding past countryside and villages en route to Rouen in Normandy. Balmoral can also pass through the Kiel Canal, gliding beneath low bridges with her mast lowered—while larger ships must divert around Denmark. Her crest reflects Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the British royal family, honoring Fred. Olsen’s historic ties to Scotland, where the family still maintains an estate.
